Arts New Orleans Reschedules 12th LUNA Fête to 2026

Move ensures the free festival returns at full creative & community impact

Arts New Orleans announced today that its iconic LUNA Fête, festival of light, art, and technology will move from November 2025 to November 2026. Created and produced by Arts New Orleans, LUNA Fête showcases the city’s vibrant contemporary art, film, and technology communities through an inspiring, large-scale public celebration.

Since its launch in 2014, LUNA Fête has become a signature winter tradition—drawing 40,000 visitors over four days to downtown New Orleans for world-class projection mapping, light installations, and interactive art.

The decision follows shifts in federal and local funding support. Rescheduling allows Arts New Orleans to keep the festival free and open to the public while delivering its hallmark projection mapping on Gallier Hall and a premier lineup of local and international artworks spanning Lafayette Street to the Piazza d’Italia.

Rescheduling to 2026 allows us to deliver a festival that is powerful, transformative, and worthy of our community.”

“The projections on Gallier Hall and the Piazza d’Italia are the anchors of LUNA Fête and essential to the audience experience,” said Amanda Winstead, LUNA Fête Chair. “Many of the funders who had pledged support for 2025 have already committed to 2026. That shows how much they value not only the festival, but also the year-round work of Arts New Orleans.”
